Health Quality and Safety Commission Forums
by NZGG
The Health Quality and Safety Commission (HQSC) is holding quality forums and workshops in Auckland and Christchurch in October.
The two quality forums are open to people working in health, as well as health consumers and groups representing consumer interests. The forums are being held in Auckland on Tuesday 4 October and Christchurch on Thursday 6 October, and are free to attend.
The keynote speaker at both forums will be Beverley Johnson from the Institute of Patient and Family-Centered Care in the United States, who has extensive experience of working with hospitals and health organisations to improve consumer participation in health.
The Commission is also hosting a smaller workshop with Beverley Johnson on Monday 3 October. She will use a local case study and work with participants to create a plan for implementation of a consumer group to provide advice to organisations.
The workshop is aimed particularly at senior health staff, including Chief Medical Officers, Directors of Nursing, Quality & Risk Managers, clinical leaders and senior clinical staff, and health managers from public and private health organisations.
More details about the forums, including information about how to register, can be found here or by emailing Gillian Bohm.
