The Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS) is the most common questionnaire used in cardiac rehabiliation in New Zealand.  It is an instrument designed to detect the presence and severity of mild degrees of mood disorder, anxiety and depression. It is well-validated, short, easy to score and is well-accepted by patients.
